Help starting my 1988 GMC 1500
Hi everyone brand new to posting but a long time lurker! I have enjoyed reading and getting TONS of help from here. But now it is time that I post because I can't get this solved yet?
My 1988 GMC 1500 has been starting really hard lately. And today it just stopped starting. It turns over and cranks but I am not getting any spark. I have already replaced the ignition coil and still no spark. Could the distributor need to be replaced next? And just so you all know I have checked out all the fuses and recently had the fuel pump replaced. So any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

Check if you are getting spark at the coil, and at the distributor. Also while cranking probe the terminals on the coil with a test light, one of em should be pulsing if your getting a signal from the distributor to the coil.

Ok heres an update........
I had purchased a new coil and it was bad. Got another one and the truck started right up but than stalled after about 5 seconds running. Now it continually does this. Once I do get it running it runs fine for a while but then I was at a stop sign and pressed the gas and it drove about 20 feet and just stalled. I can't figure this out and am getting really frustrated. Any help will be very much appreciated!
