what dash clusters will fit a 77?

Hello all,
I was wondering which dash clusters I could use on my 77??
Mine finally went out. From what I gathered so far I know I can't use a 73-75 and there looks to be something different for 76-77.I'm confused.
All I want to work is the speedo and the gas gauge. i'm not concerned about the others since I have aftermarket ones. Will 80-87 work since those seem more abundant??
Also has anyone had their speedo bounce and make a bell ringing sound??
[I thought my gremlin took up music]
Thanks in advance

it needs to have a volt gauge and mechanical oil pressure gauge. only found on 76-77. All this according to this website:

http://73-87.com/7387garage/interior...achometers.htm

im not sure if a speedo and gas gauge from a different year would work or not though. I dont think it would because of the circuit on the back. I have a 76 and am looking at buying a tach cluster

Re: what dash clusters will fit a 77?

Is the problem just because of the volt and oil gauge? I'm not even going to hook those up.
Has anyone swapped in a newer cluster in an older truck? The pic on that site for a 77 cluster doesnt look like the same font as mine for the #'s. I'm gonna have to check that out.[maybe I have a newer one in there now??] All I need is the fuel and speedo to work.

Re: what dash clusters will fit a 77?

HI, the needle bouncing and bell ringing sound sounds like maybe a bad speedo cable where it binds and then lets go, binds and then lets go... it will bounce the needle all over and can make a dinging. It will do it to the next one too if that is what it is.

Hope it helps...

Bill

I just put in a new speedo cable in and it's still bounceing. Mainly over bumps in the road.Needle keeps hanging up too.
