Horsepower

Can anyone tell me how to find out what the horsepower is of my 90 C1500 with a 350?

Let's see, that would be a 350 with a TBI unit, possibly a 700R4 automatic tranny. The best guess will be around 160 HP. These engines are a low compression model and has been touted as being quite enemic in performance.

I thought I remember reading that on a 89-91 Suburban (square body style) that there were two versions of the 5.7 (350); 190hp and 210hp. Not sure which came with what but I woud assume either it had to do with emissions or tonnage. 1/2 ton vs. 3/4?
Would the new body 1500 truck have a different engine?

Hi,donīt want to hi jack your thread bigboy6911 but i have another question about horsepower,is the 350 ( ? ) wortec engine stronger than my tbi -92 and how about the fuel economy ? Have heard that i can switch cylinderheads and manifold to get the wortec engines advantages in power/fuel economy ?

Yes. You can swap your heads and intake for a vortec set-up and still use your TBI.
