Experts Please look over this setup.
I am sure this has been discussed A Lot but I have a 67 c10 stepside and have done a lot of research on lowing it and adding brakes. I would like to at some point add bags to the truck so I don’t want to spend a bunch of money on stuff that I will not be able to use later. I want to do a 4.5” front drop and a 5” in the rear. I do not want to cut my bed right now and plan on doing a bolt in notch. I also want to change it to 5x5 bolt pattern. Could you guys look over this set up and tell me what you would change.

Re: Experts Please look over this setup.
I would recommend purchasing it all from ECE.

I second that, the customer support and service you get from ECE and Stan is far superior than the others.

Just make one big order from ECE. You won't be sorry. I've been ordering from them regularly for 15 years.

x4 for ECE.
Also,... tell Stan or Mark you got their companies product suggestion on this website. So many people use and love their products,... I'm trying to eventually get them onboard here as a member/vendor!

Re: Experts Please look over this setup.
if you want front disk brakes.. look into a 73 up front crossmember. they are
5x5 and disk brake and they can be had for about $100 dollars. and they bolt right into the frame.

Re: Experts Please look over this setup.
reedwesd, I recently did this same install on my '69 (except kept 6-lug setup w/ 6" drop in the rear) and I ordered all my parts from ECE. While you can get a cheaper price from other vendors, their products and service as second to none.
I only had one issue (M/C cap was bent) and all it took was one call to Mark and I had a new one to me within a few days. Everything bolted together just as it should, and all the pieces were there the first time. ![]() Also, as far as a notch in the rear, a notch will not be required for a 6" rear drop. We even left out the bump stops and I have yet to bottom out once. Here's a quick comparison shot for you on the 4.5/6 vs 4.5/5 spring drop. Now the wheel/tire size does play a role, but it will give you a good idea of what to expect.

I thought I saw Stan on here the board some time back. I could have swore I talked to him about it when he joined up. Don't think their vendor status yet>

Re: Experts Please look over this setup.
Keep in mind that Porterbuilt Street Rods is a dealer for ECE. I take good care of all the board members, as they generate a large part of my business.
