Re: smc valves wtf!!!!!!
Sounds like you were forcing air through the valve backwards which it will bleed through.

Re: smc valves wtf!!!!!!
Also, if you dont have check valves and you have low or no tank pressure the bag pressure will bleed back into the tank until it equalizes.

Re: smc valves wtf!!!!!!
Exactly. Most valves require a minimum pressure on the back side to keep the valve closed.

Re: smc valves wtf!!!!!!
I only used check valves when I ran Nitrogen(so I didn't have to lay the truck out to change the bottle). But yes, they would need to be before the fill valve. Once you get the tank and pumps installed they should be fine without check valves. I think the minimum PSI is only around 3-5 to hold the valves closed so as long as you keep that much in the tank they're fine. If you have Viair pumps they have a check valve built in to the leader.

Re: smc valves wtf!!!!!!
nope, running a thomas (thompson?) pump no check valve but Im still building the system, so there shouldnt be any pressure backfeeding thru the valves if I have them plumbed right then correct?

Re: smc valves wtf!!!!!!
Correct. Just put a check valve between the pump and tank and you should be good to go.
