crewcab question?
What is the difference in a 3/4t and 1t single rear wheel crewcab? Is it just the springs? I know they use the same frame, rear axle and front brakes. Remember this is NOT a dually. Thanks

Re: crewcab question?
I think something with the ball joints and spindles are different. I found this out shopping for drop spindles, I'll be watching the thread b/c I've been wondering the same thing.

Re: crewcab question?
The frame is different, as well as the spring pad width and the front brakes.

Re: crewcab question?
What axles do they have? I thought the 3/4 ton had a Semi-Floating 14 bolt and the 1 ton had a Full Floating 14 bolt.

Re: crewcab question?
If it's a 4x4 the front is a Dana 60 on the 1-ton and a Dana 44 on the 3/4 ton.

Re: crewcab question?
I could have sworn they use the same frame on the crewcab. They both use the full floater. Maybe the spring perches are different, wider on the 1t. and it's not 4wd.

Re: crewcab question?
I thought the spring hangers were mounted differently too, but its been a long time since I knew what I was talking about. Didnt something have the springs mounted under the framerails instead of beside them, with more inboard pads? IDK, my 82 crewcab&chassis (just made that up) has them outside the framerails just like my 97.

Re: crewcab question?
the only thing Ive found different on the SRW CREW CABS is the number of leafs in the rear spring pack and the spindles and the differance in the spendles is the way the caliper mounts and the way the brake line hooks to the caliper and most 3/4t didnt come with hydroboost brakes

Re: crewcab question?
Yes they both use a full float 14 bolt but the hangers and purches on the 1 ton are different. In the later years a semi float was a option but I have never seen one under a Crew. As pigrig said Hydro boost is an option and a must have IMO.
