steering column question

Hi i'm new on here. I have a 66 c/10 daily driver (will be posting pics soon) and the three speed steering column is wearing out. I have access to a 63 column but i heard only 64-68 would work in a 66. Does anyone have any info on this?

Re: steering column question

Why not rebuild your column? You can get new upper and lower bearings and a new turn signal switch.

Re: steering column question

Welcome to the forum

The wiring plug on a '63 column is different than on the '64-'66's. Otherwise it will work.

Re: steering column question

Captn fab is very correct. If you are experiencing the shift lock up issue, then it may need more than just the upper and lower bearing.

Re: steering column question

Thanks guys. Yeah i can't shift out of first gear when the truck is moving. I decided just to buy a floor shifter. Mr gasket has them fairly cheap
