Str8buban's 69 GMC
Well I am finally going to get some pics up now that I have figured out how to do it...or at least I think I have. I bought this burb from california about a month or so ago. Very straight and nice looking, it came with 2 new front fenders, radiator support, and I have all the inner and outer rocker panels. got crappy 6 lug drums all the way around, but I just picked up a 68 chevy that has been converted using everything off a 72, for pretty dang cheap basicaly going to switch everything in the front end and the rear in over, and gives me a good time to take all the parts off the parts truck and clean them up and powder coat them and not shut my burb down.
Plans...this is going to be a weekend driver, but my wife has already shut me down about spending to much right now(way to much stuff she wants done around the house now that it is spring) I have 4 kids so I would like to keep all the the seats (3rd row) and drop this as much as I can, dont think I can do the big c notch because after reading everyone elses build page and looking at there pics, I believe I would loose the 3rd row. want to get all suspension and frame work down this summer and then take it to my buddies body shop....and then the real fun begins... Ok that enough talking for now here is some pics..... |

Re: Str8buban's 69 GMC
Couple of questions about my pics...what do you all think about the full length roof air.....it is air for every rider in the vehicle and it is factory....I am sure you all have seen these before but I havent....is it worth keeping? the blowers work great, but someone unhooked everything under the hood.

Re: Str8buban's 69 GMC
I will take some pics of the hatch tonight. the outside of it is not bad...the inside of it is bad part..
also what options are you talking about with my ac unit. I thought about taking it down and replacing the blowers rewireing everything and wraping the whole thing in headliner material, or vinyle, wire in a couple of speakers and put it back up when I do the interior. just not sure how that would look... ?? |

Re: Str8buban's 69 GMC
yes i think all the trailing arms should be the same length, its where the ta crossmember bolts to that should be different.
nice truck btw..are you going to bag it? i noticed you didnt want to lose your 3rd row...what you could do is weld in a short step notch that wont bulge through the floor much, and turn the seat facing the rear hatch, like the old school station wagons had.

Re: Str8buban's 69 GMC
Well we started to rip her apart last week so I got a couple of pics, found some new ugly rust to deal with, but we did get the hood ready for primer, and it was pretty bad in spots.

Re: Str8buban's 69 GMC
Love the build! Love the rendering! I guess Mar-K is making the 67-68 trim pieces for the burbs now. Look up Vectorit and his burb for more trim info.

Re: Str8buban's 69 GMC
nice burb i like the 69 - 70 GMC grill the best. I think the roof air will work out great and look good covered. You will have to make a sealed type box for the speaker so you don't loose cool air out of them. Who did the rendering?

Re: Str8buban's 69 GMC
well guys i have some more updates, been falling behind on getting them uploaded on here. also I will have some parts for sale if anyone wants some stuff. 1st 2nd and 3rd row seats for sure right now, I have a pic of the 1st row seats on here, I will get some more up.
got the passenger side rocker tore out and some of the floor and kick panel... I am pretty sure the other ones are not as bad as this one inner rocker, floor and kick panel fixed and door jam glassed in. and getting everything sealed now, gotta wait to dry so i can seal it up upper hatch fixed and primed...really need to find a better tail gate...does anyone have one or know anyone that wants to sell one... let me know working on the doors and fenders also...moving right along |
