I have had good luck with Bosch Platinums,
They are real hard to foul.

You probably need a carb overhaul (or a new carb) if you are fouling plugs.

Man.......
Fouling with a new carb.........

It is probably a little rich as they set them that way from the factory (for good reason) but it should not be eating plugs.

Have you done any ignition mods yet?

Ya it is a little rich. no i havent done any mods yet. When i bought the truck it had ngk plugs in it and it ran pretty good but i like to change plugs when i get a new vehicle since you never know how long they have been in there and i bought some champion truck plugs i dont think they are as good.

I've had bad luck with Champion plugs, unless they were in a lawnmower that is

Anyway, I'd suggest you go get some replacement NGK plugs, that is what I used to run all the time before I installed my headers. Now due to space restrictions, I have to run these crappy ACCEL U-groove header plugs.

If you dont want to buy NGK's, get ACdelco plugs. They work great.

A MSD spark box will cure it if you can do it.
I don't much like Champions either. They are good in my Snapper but not in anything with 4 wheels (for me).

The accel hedder plug is just a crappy design I think they foul out almost as much as the champion plugs, and my truck is by no means running rich.

NGK's and ACDELCO's are the two best in my book.

As for the MSD box, assuming you mean ignition box - 6AL is the one sitting on my shelf to be installed, dont know if you need that much however.

AC Delco does make a good plug. If Bosch Platinums were not around thats what I would use.

I have two small blocks with headers on them and have enough room for any plug. You must have some angle plug heads on there.
I have heard many times that those Accel plugs are no good.

BTW: I love the "smoke and a pancake" line! I get a laugh everytime I see that.

Not angle plug heads.

I can get the plugs into the heads just fine, however the wire BOOTS press up on a few of the tubes, which would cause them to burn or melt, which I do not want. So instead I use those shortie plugs.

I'm using a cheap set of Flow-tech headers, so maybe when/if I put the hedmans on. I wont have the problem anymore.

Yeah....the 6AL is the one to use.
Like it has been said though....you might not need it.
I added one and it made 0 difference in my truck.
That is with the 305 though. We will see more when I get this 383 I have in.

I highly recommend NGK's. Best plug I've ever used. A MSD box is not needed for any stock engine setup. It will help with better starts, smoother running and mileage though. You could just add a better coil in your distributor to help too.

If you do decide to get one, you don't need a 6AL, just the 6A. The 6AL, like I have has a built in rpm limiter to keep from overreving. Something a stock engine don't need. There is quite a bit of difference in price between the two also.

NGK makes a great plug. I use the platinum TR55VX in my car and the V-Power UR5 in my truck.
Here's the V-Power:

I use just plain AC Delco's, never had a problem and truck runs great. I almost bought NGK's last time when the ac's were out of stock.

I use the NGK plugs, you can play with the heat ranges on these as well.

My cycle I like the Bosch, fires better for the hard starting bike.

Get an MSD HEI upgraded coil. MSD is THE company to deal with in ignition.

I've also ran AC, Champion Gold, NGK, an Bosch Platinum. Hands down the NGK are the best I've ran. The AC Delco are good too but the NGK are better. If you're fouling out then it's time to recheck your carb settings and timing.

BTW: Edelbrock doesn't make a 650.
