"This has Rusty Floors..so if your scared of rust move on to next ad"

...but it's from California not Alaska, right?

Re: Craigslist Find Sacramento 1961 step crew

rusty floors could easily still be an original Cali truck.....lots of floor rust has nothing to do with salt on the roads, my 56 chevy Delray was from Mt. View it's whole life, but the front floors and also the trunk floor were rusted through from leaky windshield and the roof drain hoses that ran through the trunk and out the wheel wells. that water leaking did a number on it.

Re: Craigslist Find Sacramento 1961 step crew

That is one I havent saw before, a crew with a full short bed. it would be a good start, I also think its a little on the high side, but then again it is only worth what someone will pay.

Re: Craigslist Find Sacramento 1961 step crew

Am I dense (don't answer that), or have I not seen many stepside crews before? Seems the vast majority are shortened fleets. When compared to the goofy bobbed-off fleetsides, the normal stepper looks good. I also think the early hood compliments the oddly proportioned crew quite well. kinda like not just a little dorky, but dorky all-over ... in a good way, that is... yeah that's it, nicely dorky.

most of the step crews are the 60-61
here are 5 different ones, all unrestored.

I used a saved photo of this truck to do a photo chopa few years back, and chopped the top a few inches, and lowered it... kinda brings the shapes into line (I think)

def. true for the 456, judging by the photos that I have saved from internet searches "true" factory crews look to be about 50+% step 60-61, and almost 100% fleet by 456, here is the 1 photo of a "real" 456 step crew I have found,+ 3 shots in factory literature.

Re: Craigslist Find Sacramento 1961 step crew

I'm almost positive that crew came from Saratoga, Wyoming. I seen it there back in 98' or so. I talked to the gentleman who owned it and he said a guy from California came thru and bought it. I'm pretty sure its the exact truck. It was Rough! Gotta love it tho!

Re: Craigslist Find Sacramento 1961 step crew

Ya, the other was just a cab. I think it was a green 64-66 tho. The bare cab was out in the sticks, it was impossible to find and I thought it would be there a while so I took my sweet azz time to get it. Snooze ya loose! I did buy a 70 4x4 suburban from there. It was a carbon county scool district truck. Nice body!
