brake time for the 02 burb. need pad ideas
first time since we've owned it that the brakes will need to be done.
are all pads created equal for this beast? im looking at these for the front and these for the rear for about $80+ tax. |

If you buy at part store they usually have 3 grades always buy the BEST Money well spent If not go to dealer and buy oem There is a difference

as far as exact fit those look to be the best advance auto has to offer with good ratings. they are about $65 a set. then there is a $50 off coupon code to make them $80+ tax

ok i talked to my mechanic and he said that if ceramic pads aren't recommended that he wouldn't suggest putting them on due to the squeaking affect it might cause.
so are ceramics ok to put on or the semi-metallic? |

I used the Wagner themo quiets on my o2 silverado, & am happy with the set

I ran the Wagner Ceramics for years on my 97 Burb and loved them. Quiet and low dust emitting.

i too went the thermo quiet on my 02 1500hd front and rear. went thru 2 sets of annoying screeching with them. (the old brakes were silent just getting worn) Even with all new rotors, pads, clips, cleaned and greased properly they would be fine for about a week and a half then start screeching. finally made them warranty from the thermo quiets to perfect stops. Been alot happier with those than the thermo quiets.
