removing e-brake cable sleeve
Does anyone know how to remove the e-brake sleeve from the lever assembly? I already disconnected the cable from the top of the assembly, I just need to figure out how to disconnect the sleeve from the bottom of the assembly. I pulled a clip off of it but I still can't figure out how to completely remove it.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks. (I found this picture on the forum looking for an answer and I drew an arrow to what I am talking about.)

Re: removing e-brake cable sleeve
You have a rubber grommet that goes through the floor. When you get it disconnected from the lever and then the retaining clip at the EBRAKE structure (?) then you have to pull it through the bottom. There is a grommet that goes through the floor

Re: removing e-brake cable sleeve
On the top side of that there is EATHER a three prong lock that you can EATHER brake them off if your replacing the cable or there is a C shaped squeeze clip similar to the EBRAKE lever in the drum brakes themselves

Re: removing e-brake cable sleeve
That looks easier. Just grab the end and pull it. Mine was a bit harder it had the three prong and hard to get to. I had to brake off the prongs. Take some pliers and grabb the cable and push up and slip the knot out of the whole and the pull the cable sleeve retainer clip and then slide it out through the firewall. If the cable is bad or frozen, just cut it

Re: removing e-brake cable sleeve
JFYI bigd65 you don't need to break off the prongs to get them out. Use a small hose clamp. OPen it up, slide it over the cable, screw it back togethor, slide it down over the prongs, tighten it up and the prongs are compressed and the cable slides out.

Re: removing e-brake cable sleeve
I have used 1/2" wrench for that. Slide the loop end over the cable and pull the cable down, easy.
