(Another) New Guy 66C10 Stepside
Hello All,
Long time lurker, wanted to become "legit". The forum has been VERY helpful with my ride/projects. Invaluable guidance on the following mods; CPP Disc Brake Conversion and front end rebuild (Note; Stock 15x6.5 rims do not work with the calipers, had to go with Summit Racing Rallys). 2.5" dropped spindles w/ 1" shorter springs, 4" dropped springs in the back. Master Cyl with Vac Boost Brake lines (Note: The T fitting on the back axle is special, so either save your old one, or buy a new one up front). Carb Rebuild x3 (Roc B on a 250 L6) (Note; just go ahead and get the new gas tank, redo of the old one didn't work out so well) HEI Ignition (thanks for the tip on the resistor wire - removal thereof). Daughter getting married in Nov at a place called "The Dairy Barn" and she wanted to use my old truck as the getaway vehicle. It's been in storage for about 8 years. I think she was just doing me a favor as she knew I've been itching to get it back on the road (and I can hide some of the $ in the wedding budget)(ha). Thanks again. Later. |

Ohhh....and 73 and up stock GM steelies 4x4 rims will clear the calipers and allow you to run your factory hubcaps and trim rings.

Nice truck! Welcome! Could we have some picture of that 572 big block with a turbo and 300 hp shot of nitrous?

Great looking truck, love them stepsides. Perfect getaway vehicle for your daughters wedding. Had mine sitting for 21 years, forgot how much fun they are.
