intake question

I have a 1985 c-10LB,with a 305 4bbl.
I'm going to replace the intake gaskets, soon, and I'm wondering if it will harm anything ,if I leave out the coolant restriction tabs for the intake manifold passages.

Re: intake question

You mean the metal piece in the middle? That is the exhaust crossover. I always left those out.

Re: intake question

no,mine has metal tabs, with small holes in them,at the water passages to the intake. ??Near the ends of the intake mounting surfaces.

Re: intake question

They limit the amount of water flow through the intake. I would put them in so you don't have too much heat in your intake.

Re: intake question

Thanks,imjeff. I DON'T need any overheating problems. Average temps here,in Arkansas,in summer is 98/105f !
