pinion angle? level truck?
Hello once again ...i know my truck needs to be at ride hight to set pinion angle ..but does my truck have to sit level. im working on a unlevel floor. and once again thanx to everyone for building my truck...

Do you have the trans in? If so just match the trans angle with the pinion angle.

pinion angle is about the angles between the trans, drive shaft and rear. You could do it on a hillside it doesn't change the drive shaft to pinion angles.
What does matter is it the ride height being where you want it and is it at the curb weight you want. Don't set it and then decide to put the 800 lbs bed on it. |

Trans output should be around 3 degrees down and pinion should be the same angle only pointed up, with the frame at ride height. Usually the frame is level at ride height unless you live in Kentucky and drive a ford
maybe.

at ride hight my tranny is at +5 so do i set my pinion at -5 ?,oh and my truck has 2 shafts..sorry

the motor and trans are bolted down.. i added air bags and so i have a diff ride hight.. can i add i shim to the rear trany mount to raise it?

i was driving this truck on bags. then did the rear swap to a five bolt. the trany was in the spot it is now and it was great down the road..

All the info before is based on a one piece. Mine was 4 down and 4 up in the rear. The driveline was 6.5 for the first and second piece. Both pointing down to the rear.

ive heard that the rear should be down because when driving it will rise.. as of now my front is +5 and my rear is -5.. the shafts look like a V from the side.. just like the pic
