Indicator/park light bulb holders?? New ones available to but?

In the UK any moror vehicle over three years old has to have a full yearly mechanical and safety inspection - the MOT test.

Some weird rules. You do not have to carry a spare wheel, but if you do, it has to be inflated and be fully legal, so no bald tyres.

My truck is booked in on Saturday this coming week.

My one indicator was playing up so Martin came over to repair it.
During the process we discovered that the park lights were non functioning with one of the dual filament bulb holders completely FUBAR'd and the other one dead.

After some surgery and rewiring the one got to function and Martin then fetched his only decent one from his stripped truck and got it to work.

So I now have "side lights/park lights" and seperate indicators for the test.

HOWEVER........ We need to find replacement, preferably new ones to buy??

Any links or advice on where or what modern replacements there are out there?

We need four new ones for the two trucks.

Thanks for your help.

These are the fittings we now need to find replacements for the USA.

Re: Indicator/park light bulb holders?? New ones available to but?

I have two spares in good condition you are welcome to have for free if you can remind me the best way to ship them:

I can't find any to purchase locally. The last time I bought any was from Chevy Duty (ClassicParts). I think they are in Kansas, although I don't know if they sell the sockets by themselves, or if you have to buy a whole harness.

Let me know if I can help. Regards, Mark.

I just noticed the ones I have may not work, they only have two wires each, and yours appear to have 3 wires.

The two wires are both for the parking lights. One runs from the switch to that socket, and the other comes from the socket and runs to the other one to power it. If you have one with one wire, you just need to add the other wire where you splice the socket into the harness.

Hi Mark, thank you for the offer.

I have PM'd you to discuss.

One of my wires just fell off yesterday but as mentioned below, Martin only used two wires etc. So I will check with him later or tomorrow when we chat.

Thank you for the input.

Woogeroo, I will take look and see.

I also decided to buy a complete EZ 21 wiring harness for my truck.

When we were stripping wires etc, the copper is so badly oxidized that it is neither very good nor safe for the truck, so a fresh start is probably much more sensible. Typically, by post it will cost more than double the USA price so I am going to see if any of my colleagues are going to the US soon who can bring the harness in their luggage.

Re: Indicator/park light bulb holders?? New ones available to but?

You are 100% correct - a wire pulled out of mine on the passenger side and I just tried to locate one and all I could find was for 1967 and up.

It may work but I would hate to buy yet another part that isn't right - that I have to mess with, I might as well just repair the one I have!

Too bad we are not in love with Ford Mustangs or VW Beetles!

As much as I like Mustangs and have owned Beetles, it just would not be the same, would it ??

Also, to clarify; by two wires, I mean the two that are the same color when the socket has three. Figured I should make the clearer for future searchers.

BTW, good to know about NAPA carrying these, Mark.
