what are these?

First is bolted to the back side of the rt door jamb. The second is under the back glass to the right of the fuel tank. The truck is a 68.

Re: what are these?

The spring is there to hold in your jack screw. Your jack should be bolted down right there also.

Re: what are these?

I thought I read somewhere the spring had something to do with the jack, but recently found a thread here showing a "bag" to stow the jack screw and lug wrench. The jack instruction sticker I just ordered also doesn't reference the spring. Is 68 different than other years. I've done a google search but havn't come up with much info.

Is that speaker bracket actually the correct one for these trucks? It would be cool to be able to put a speaker in the dash where it belongs! Thanks for the replies.

Here's a great thread on jack storage posted by LockDoc. I bet he'll chime in soon!

The "speaker" bracket, or whatever it is, is nothing supplied by GM. Truck speakers were only in the dash.

Re: what are these?

Looks like a factory GM speaker bracket for these trucks to me!

Thanks for that link, just what I needed! I know the speaker is supposed to be in the dash, I'm hoping that bracket is the correct one to put a speaker where it's supposed to be.

It does appear to be at least part of what needed to mount the speaker in the dash. Here's an old for sale thread with a complete set.

Re: what are these?

Thanks again FirstOwner. Guess I'm gonna have to stick my head under the dash to check for the other piece.
