Anybody know how to remove these heater hose fittings?
I'm mostly interested in the white quick connect, which no longer has a nipple on it and which has my quick connect removal tool stuck behind it -

Re: Anybody know how to remove these heater hose fittings?
It's an 04 2500HD with a Duramax; I could get the fitting to move forward but it didn't come off.

My neighbors blew out when he was heading fishing one day.
I seen the trail on the highway. He came back a few minutes later Luckily he was close to home. Here is a video that I hope will help https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-SPALplsO8 .

I am glad it happened a couple miles from home and not on a trip to Atlanta or somewhere. K

Re: Anybody know how to remove these heater hose fittings?
It might be worth making a fork to pry against the fitting.

Re: Anybody know how to remove these heater hose fittings?
I was hoping you might have some input.
I found an old Cub Lowboy shift fork in my junk metal pile; I'm going to try hooking the slide hammer to that and give it a whirl. Thanks - K

Re: Anybody know how to remove these heater hose fittings?
Keith you probably have already thought about it but slide hammering on that fitting may pop a leak on the heater core. I worked and worked to get mine to release using the tool that eventually worked.
What you might try is a dremel tool or similar to split that coupler lengthwise then peel it off the tube.

Re: Anybody know how to remove these heater hose fittings?
These come in handy at the strangest times.
You don't run as high a risk of cutting through the metal tube inside as you do with power tools.

Re: Anybody know how to remove these heater hose fittings?
Thanks guys; I got it.
I was able to get my quick connect tool unstuck and I was moving the fitting around in order to "reset" and start over, and it came right off. I think the stuck tool was preventing the fitting from slipping off. K

Re: Anybody know how to remove these heater hose fittings?
I have replaced those replacement fittings twice on my Yukon. They all seam to leak just a little. So I bite the bullet and bought GM ones.
