3100 Long bed?
Did Chevrolet make a 47-54 3100 long bed truck?
I know that the 1/2 ton trucks were 3100 and the 3/4 ton trucks were 3600. When I bought my truck it was in pieces and it did not come with a lot of the smaller detail parts like the emblems. but I do have the long bed sides and running boards. I am going to have to buy new emblems for the hood, I want to keep the long bed sides, as you do not see them as much as the short beds. The 3100 badging cost a lot less than the 3600.

Re: 3100 Long bed?
how many lug are the axles? 6 lug 1/2 ton, 8 lug 3/4 and 1 ton.
the gm heritage site shows the difference between 1/2 and 3/4 and 1 tons are wheelbase in addition to capacity, so all 116 wheelbase are 1/2 ton (3100) and all 125.25" wheelbase are 3/4 ton, and all 137 wheelbase are 1 ton. so without some other evidence like your truck having 6 lug axles, I would say its a 3/4 or 1 ton depending on the wheelbase.

Re: 3100 Long bed?
GMC made a 1/2 ton long bed but Chevy didn't.
Outside of the obvious GMC front crossmember the only difference I can see is that it is 9-1/4 inches longer and has a second middle crossmember. I'm going to use this one under my 48 when I stretch the cab though the doors and run a stock length short bed. I've had this frame for over 20 years when my buddy gave it to me or I traded him out of it. The bad part was that the long bed running boards that you couldn't give away in the 70's and 80's have gotten real expensive lately. I got a real bad case of "OH gotta have" and paid way too much for a pair.
