Mexican Blazer
I came across this 1971 Chevy Blazer from Mexico, allegedly. I have seen Mexican trucks before and had never seen a blazer. According to the post the top does not come off. Its a six cylinder 4 speed, 250 sm465(?). It looks like its in decent shape but does state that it needs some work. It's listed for MX$12,000, or $601.33 at the current exchange, so probably $12,000 U.S. Dollars. It's a very interesting Blazer and I did not know if anyone else had information on the Mexican Blazers of this time period, if they existed.
To me it seems like this truck has a Dodge Ramcharger rear glass retorfitted to a 69-72 Blazer lines. Although they would have had to had a Suburban roof to make the roof line. Although for some reason, to me the back tail light area seems to look odd and leads me to believe this is a Mexican Blazer. Along with the Spanish paper work, this might be the real deal. Please comment if you have more experience. Selling my 71 (mexico) C10 blazer 6 cyl 4 speed Manual transmission. Found in Mexico about 2 years ago really rare blazer 1 of 1. It runs and drives good. some rust.. floor panels need to be replaced. 22”transport wheels new tires. In process of getting the Az title. Serious inquiries only. PM me for more info. No trades…. https://www.facebook.com/commerce/li...are_attachment

Re: Mexican Blazer
One thing that I neglected to understand in my first post is the rear wheel well opening. From the limited amount of research that I have done, the rear wheel well seems to be different form the U.S. spec trucks to the Mexican spec trucks. (Not U.S. made vs. Mexican made but U.S. spec vs. Mexican spec). The "Mexican" Blazer that I originally posted has rear wheel wells similar to the "Mexican" trucks that I originally posted. To me, what I have always identified as one of the major design changes has been the 60-66 style tailgate chains (shown in the last of my uploaded photos on this post) vs. the 67-72 (or 69-72 Blazer) tailgate. I have already messaged the seller about a Mexican Blazer tailgate and what that might look like.

Re: Mexican Blazer
Waiting to see how long it takes for the forum police to remove this ad.
Very cool truck though. Last edited by hemi43; 03-18-2025 at 09:54 AM. |

I do still think that this is an interesting topic. The American Blazers and Mexican Blazers are a lot more different than I had thought and I wanted to try to document some of those differences.

Re: Mexican Blazer
The documentation seems to state it was a pickup. The roof and side windows look really similar to a 1981-up Dodge Ramcharger. It's really interesting whatever it is.

Re: Mexican Blazer
Really rare 1 of 1... I think that's all you need to know about it.
And why would anyone want a Blazer that doesn't have a removable top?

Re: Mexican Blazer
This site wants you to pay a ransom to sell items even if it's a $5 bolt. Dumb rule if you ask me considering it costs nothing to host these forums.
A common sense rule would be to charge businesses a fee to advertise and sell, but not members trying to sell 1 or 2 items per year. |

This is not a site dealing with business related items. It’s a site that people go to for information or parts for their hobby project and to find that one part they have been searching for. Charging people for them to sell one or two items is a disservice to the hobby. This is one of very few sites that does this and it’s wrong whether you agree or not. Moving on. |

Re: Mexican Blazer
The only problem I have is the unability for members to buy and sell a couple items.
The reason I come here is to read the builds and if I can, give some technical advice to help someone out. I'll just move on from this site. |

Re: Mexican Blazer
Funky looking Blazer. I don’t perceive the OP as a for sale as much as a buyer beware. The rear windows resemble those from a Bronco II.

Re: Mexican Blazer
That got very unfriendly very quickly. The OP wasn't selling anything; he was just posting something unusual and asking if it might be legitimate.
I don't feel I'm morally superior when I pay $25 per year for something, and I would never feel comfortable telling someone else to get lost because they haven't paid.

Re: Mexican Blazer
Well, I didn't mean to start that. No, I am not the one selling the Blazer. It is for sale in Arizona and I have never been there. Does anyone have any other info on the Blazer subject? I messaged the seller and he didn't seem to know much.
As Bob B. stated the paper work calls it "Pick-Up" and Chassis. I do not know Spanish fluently so I do not know what categories these are under. Mexican documentation could be different too. I want to believe that this is a real Mexican Blazer, but I am still skeptical.

Re: Mexican Blazer
The advertised vehicle is a one-off creation someone cobbled together not something GM produced.
