Restored 5k Tach Cluster
Here are the details on this cluster:
Tach - Brand new reproduction Fuel, Temp, Oil & Battery Gauges - These are nice OE gauges that have been bench-tested. They all function correctly. Speedometer - This is a nice OE unit. Tested by spinning it with a servo motor at precisely 1001 RPM, and it read 60mph (60mph is perfect). Input shaft lubricated and odometer set back to zero. Front Tin - OE, very clean, no rust - Factory-style formed opening added for the tach. Video Back Tin - OE - Tach hole added using a CNC router based on a pattern made from a factory tach tin. Bead blasted and repainted. Video Lens - OE - Dummy tach markings removed, and die-cut decals applied for the 5k tach. The lens is nice, and it has very little in the way of swirl marks or scratches. Video Bezel - Reproduction 67-68 style from Auto Metal Direct. Printed Circuit - Brand new reproduction Bulbs - Tested good $400 + shipping Zelle, CashApp or money order only. Send me a PM or email me at dummyfillernecks@gmail.com if you have any questions. |

Re: Restored 5k Tach Cluster
That is a nice cluster!! I am curious, why does it seem no one repaints the hot zone on the temp gauge when restoring these clusters?

Re: Restored 5k Tach Cluster
because the paint needed to do that is super thin and can't hardly be applied taped off so small without making a mess of it. better to find NOS and go that route
