body molding
I'm working on refreshing my OG upper and lower molding. Has anyone used 2 sided tape in lieu of the clips?

Re: body molding
I think LMC just had a video on here on installing trim without clips and it was real informative. Maybe someone here can elaborate.

Re: body molding
Personally I'd avoid that, especially at the doors, and definitely for the short pieces that would never involve tape - Same the top fender, which takes none. IMO, no more than 1/3rd of the clips per piece should be tape, if any.

Re: body molding
. Sure can be, a few do-overs at the doors here. WD-40, hair dryer, and the right clean plastic knife makes it an easy chore.

Re: body molding
if you use any tape, I highly suggest preping the surface with 3M Tape Primer #94 first. https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/p/d/b40065491/

Re: body molding
Yes, prep is important. I used 3M trim tape and this is how I attach mine.

Also used the special 3m double sided tape in 1/16” thickness. Bought several rolls because I did the entire length of the trim, end to end, top and bottom and both ends. Yours looks awesome! When I wrapped the wood grain trim material around the ends, I taped it down with Gorilla tape so it would never start to lift. I also used the factory trim attachment hardware on the top trim, front of the fenders...the little wedge pieces. And the trim hardware on the door ends. Every other trim hole was filled so I used the two sided tape and Lexan. Quote:
I used the 3m tape the is 1/16” thick. If for some reason the trim hits the body of the truck and the tape doesn’t stick, just double it up...it’s only 1/16”.
