Re: 67 C 30 heavy duty

Pretty cool truck, I can imagine all kinds of things to do with a rig like that.

Re: 67 C 30 heavy duty

Looks fairly solid for a rust belt truck. Quite the gears and nice to see marker lights listed. Good find.

Re: 67 C 30 heavy duty

It's got five lug split rims.
My 67 C30 came with 8 lug solid rims. At least I think it did.
I don't ever remember seeing those rims. Anybody got input on that?
What size tires are on that?

Re: 67 C 30 heavy duty

See this doc. "S" was six, "E" was eight cylinder. An eight wasn't necessarily a small block.

For optional wheels, go to this site and scroll down to the "Q" designation.

Should be 19.5 wheels. You have the HD HO110 rear with 14000 GVW

Re: 67 C 30 heavy duty

I guess the brakes and tires and wheels are automatic when the 157" chassis is ordered? This thing is a beast!

No big blocks in trucks in 67. So it would have been a small block.

OK, at least for C10-C30, right? Revving the snot out of that 283...since the SPID doesn't say 327.

Good thing it's a short stroke engine with those rear gears. I can just hear that thing screaming!

Re: 67 C 30 heavy duty

Maybe they wanted a C40 without the larger frame etc?

Neat old truck, from back when you could order whatever you could dream of.

Re: 67 C 30 heavy duty

That's what I was thinking, it's almost a C40. What's the GVW on the VIN plate?

Re: 67 C 30 heavy duty

There is a 68 c50 on Chicago Craigslist today, 2/13/26, that has the same rims. Five lug in front and 10 lug in back. I'm thinking this chassis is heavier than a 1 ton.

Re: 67 C 30 heavy duty

My flatbed was the same. It came to me as a Class B motorhome. 19.5 rims 14k GVW. 396 engine, 157 wb. The motorhome part of the truck had a lot of rot so it met its fate with a sawsall and the dump. It was however fully loaded. I think the only thing missing was cruise control. Had Jeff remake me a spid. I pulled out the 396 and put in a 454 and added a gear vendor unit to the back of the t400. I cut off 2 feet of frame in the back and I still have a 10' long deck on it. Got rid of the HO72 and went with a D70hd and swapped out the fronts for 8 lug also. Converted to 8 lug and 16'' rims
