Maybe you could post up some pics, I am not aware of what a sub. floor looks like. Is it just a longer blazer floor with more crossmembers? Any help on what it looks like would be great! Jim

Ill be honest I really havnt paid that close attention to it. The burban just came into my possession about 4 - 5 months ago. My father gave it to me. Still trying to get it driveable. Im not really too familar with the blazer floor. About the only thing I know is there is plywood back there lol.

Alright let me start this here FAQ by giving some background. There is no kit out there that fits exactly, so I recommend going to a manufactor (spelling?) that will let you pick what you want. Example: I needed more of the splined carriage bolts, I was told at Classic Ind. that I had to buy the entire bolt kit again, hogwash!

I called Bruce Horkey, I'll check on the name, and he asked what I wanted, I told him and he sent out the count that I wanted, so be careful where you buy the pcs.

The wood I ordered was for a longbed, thinking I would have to adjust the lenght, and I am glad I did. As it turns out you have to flip the wood with the cutout in it to the other side to get the lenght right. Also there are 2 long and 2 short pcs. for the outside corners, I ended up ordering 2 more long pcs. All the wood has to be cut to lenght by 3-4". I recommend cutting all at the same time, as mine are a little off, I should have done this. BTW get your wood without any predrilled holes, you will have to adjust them. The end of the wood at the tailgate was cut at a 6-7 degree angle, tell you why later.

The same goes with the SS strips, I had to flip the SS
strips to the other end of the bed from where they were designed to go and add holes where needed, also get 2
extra of the long ones. Center punch your holes well and step the size of the hole up till you get to 1/4". 2-3 drill sizes should do it. The lenghts of SS were cut with a 4 1/2 inch wheel on an angle grinder, I tried a chop saw, but it seemed to get the metel to hot and blue the edges

The other thing you will need to adjust are the wheelhouses. They are rather easy to fix so I'll get into that when the time comes.

OK that seems like a basic overview, but remember this:
Read, Understand and follow all the directions on your power tools. There is not a better safety tool then these, SAFETY GLASSES, wear them!!! I"ve had 2 pcs. of metal ground out of my eye and it defiantly ruins all the fun you can have working on your truck. You stop working very quickly when you get something in your eye.

I am working on doing mine too yours looks great i had a 72 pickup that had wood and have liked that look ever scence and you dont see to many blazers with it it is a lot of wor all my florr is cut out right now

Wow you really took yours apart, and modified it. You are going to need more cross braces to tie the stainless strips too. Is that steel tubing back up to factory height?

looks taller so he doesn't need to cut it out for the notch

yea i moved the floor up that way it will still be flat and there are still a few more cross bars that i need to put in i will update photos in a few weeks when i get them all in

Thanks, I take that as a large compliment. I thought I was going to get hammered by the purist on the board. I just think it will be easier to fix if it rots out, unlike steel floors. Glad you like it! Jim

yes i still have it but it is not in very good shape i got my blazer out of a wrecking yard it had been sitting there for 7 years it had rust, garbage ,and rot all over it it would ned some patching if it were ever to go back in
