Re: HOLY CRAP - Ebay 68 K-20 w/53" tires...
this truck is from around me in the pittsburgh pa area... Its a bad a$$ truck and the owner drives the cr*p out of it!!! I followed him for 60 to 80 miles home from a show in ohio at highway speed!! And I do not blame him for not wanting to drive it in the mud!!! Would you drive your restored truck in the snow or mud?? I know I wouldnt! Here are a few pictures of my 68 sitting beside it at a local show.... Its huge!

Interesting for sure, nice detail work.
Fender to tire clearance would make me nervous and the drive line angles are pretty outta whack. |

This truck sold on the bay for $22,800.00. Then re-sold for $25,100.00. For all the work done that everyone talks about, I could of had a crew cab built, and really had something. That thing is just a diamond up a goat's ass!!!!

Re: HOLY CRAP - Ebay 68 K-20 w/53" tires...
It should have 5t Rockwells for 53s.The monster trucks started out with 48" Terra Tires from Goodyear and they snapped 2.5s when they got bigger.
It could be street driven registered historic or,like in Maryland,as a street rod.But...I think you still may draw alot of attention from Johnny Law.It`s cool to look at and fun to drive,I`m sure

Actually, 2.5 tons would work. It would still be stupid tall with no suspension flex, horrible driveshaft angles, not to mention it's probably open diff front and rear. Check out http://www.ouversonengineering.com/ They make 2" diameter 47 spline axleshafts for the 2.5 ton Rock. Pure beef right there....plus a lot of other cool stuff for Rocks...8x6.5 conversion hubs, wheel brakes, pinion brakes, etc.

Cool truck, dig the color, really jumps off the truck. The tires are a little big for my taste, but cool none the less.

Re: HOLY CRAP - Ebay 68 K-20 w/53" tires...
everyone does have valid points here.
those dana 60's could not be hammered on or off road with 53's. even the 49's are hard on alloy dana 60 shafts. the 2.5 tons would be the choice here, they will hold more than a 48"terra though, unless your talkin about 600hp or 72" tractor tires. as for useful or uselessness? stay tuned and be patient......my k5 with rockwells and 50" tractor tires will NOT be a show truck..ill show you rockwell axles and 50" tires being USED!!

Re: HOLY CRAP - Ebay 68 K-20 w/53" tires...
I guess I`d want 600+hp with 49s or more. So,I`d want 5 tons with 53s.I built a mud bogger with Duece & a quarter axles running 44s and I hurt them a couple times with 500+hp.

Re: HOLY CRAP - Ebay 68 K-20 w/53" tires...
I think this truck might have been at the Jamboree in Springfield, Illinois. I have a friend. (whom Mudder knows) That went and I think I saw a picture of it in a roll of film. He took while there this year but I'm not positive but I'm 90% sure. I really need to get some pictures of his truck. Its a 69 lwb with 33s Black and silver its a really nice truck It won Best engine in '06 at the Jamboree in Springfield, MO.
