Mr -K there is a local body shop in town that sells repop trim parts and they have Chevrolet gates with the holes already in them for sale ?? Maybe they just drilled them in and re-primed ?? Could that be what this man has also ?

Would a GM gate have a stamp in it with # ?

There are no numbers stamped on my NOS gate still in box that was manufactured in 1984. There is a GM part# sticker where the handle goes and all the edges are nice not sharp like a razor. I got sliced on my repop gate and had to debur all the edges.

Yeah, that's what I noticed between my REPOP and this gate. The edges are smooth and the welds on both ends are not as noticeable. The REPOP has some rough welds on the inside are of both ends of the gate where the original one is smooth.
