Re: ****Red72Blazer**** rust repair thread
Update 3-28-09
It's been hard to get anything done as it has been raining here in the Pacific Northwest lately. I did manage to pull the seats today. I got some more pictures of the rust with my new camera. It's a Canon Powershot SD11000IS. so far I'm pretty happy with it. I mainly bought it to help document my repairs. Here is the passenger side rocker. The passenger side is definitely worse than the drivers, but I think they will both require about the same amount of work. It looks like someone used bondo over the rust at some time on the sill. with the door open This is the passenger side A Pillar to floor transition. passenger side a pillar from drivers side

Re: ****Red72Blazer**** rust repair thread
I pulled the roll bar today. I sawzalled through half of the bolts holding it in. I also made a list of what I want to buy sheet metal wise to start out with.
I'm going to start with gm rockers from Wes. http://www.classicheartbeat.com/cata...%20Rockers.htm I also think I need L & R outer cab floor extensions L & R inner rocker backing plates L & R front door pillars L & R lower kick panel and the floor section that meets them L side front lower quarter section L side rear door pillar am I missing anything critical for the first steps? I think that's a good start. I'm sure I will need more patches just for that section of the cab. I still have the bed floor and fire wall to deal with with as well.

Re: ****Red72Blazer**** rust repair thread
I got my Body Mount kit from GMCPauls on thursday. It looks like a very complete kit with all the mounts bagged up for which area they belong. I'm doing Easter stuff today and tomorrow, so i doubt I'll get any time on it this weekend. I'm kinda bummed because the weather forecast looks pretty bad early next week and I'm out of town next weekend, so I don't think I will get to work on it for awhile. I will take pictures of the entire process when I start. I get paid on the 14th so then I will buy my panels and a set of nice k5 emblems from another member. after I get back from out of town, I'm hoping to clear the schedule in the shop and get the mounts and rockers done. I doubt I know what I am talking about. but I'm estimating 60-80hrs for both sides. we shall see.

Re: ****Red72Blazer**** rust repair thread
it's kinda a rolling project. I do have a lot of updates, but also have a couple other projects in the works.... 1931 model a to be specific. I'm holding off showing everything until I figure something out......I'll give a hint....4BT......
