The only thing it could not do well was tow. It was rated for 8900lbs, but my 5000lb trailer loads would make the chassis flex, rear suspension squat and generally wallow in turns. It had plenty of power, and adequate braking, but the chassis was not enough. I tried a few upgrades with some positive results, but it never felt right. Upgraded to the 2500HD in 2012, and its a world of difference. Its also almost 2500lbs heavier! And gas mileage is terrible. But towing is easy-peasy!

The lesson is tow/load within the legal ability of the truck and to where you feel comfortable.
Does anyone have any information on a 1 ton because I plan to buy a 1 ton I would want to buy a boat and hopefully a 1 ton can pull about 6500 pounds and maybe 2 jet skis 800 pounds a piece. These trucks are fantastic at carrying quads I can literally fit 4 atvs in new trucks that's impossible.
