Thank you Holley Tech Support gave me the same recommend, see below.

"Hello,

Thank you for contacting Holley Performance Products. Personally I would suggest an open plenum gasket - 108-10.

Sincerely,
Colin Kinser
Holley Technical Service"

throw a 1" phenolic carb spacer on there while you're at it

you know me and a buddy of mine were at this place in town called Tognotti's Auto World and he said the same thing, I honestly don't know what the pros or cons of such implement are yet so I don't want to get a hernia trying to figure it out, that and start WWW III with a discussion here about those things, LOL

well, not trying to spark any debates, but it solved a hot start issue with my truck after converting to an aluminum intake and edelbrock carb. the carb would get "heat soaked" after shutting it off for say 30 mins to an hour. I know you're going with a Holley (I spied on your build thread haha) but I'm sure the materials used to cast the carb body are similar.
Anyway, I tried the 1" phenolic spacer (4-hole) and *Poof* problem solved
plus, it did add a little power off the line...

Re: What carb base gasket should I use?

I would call the tech support of the company that made the manifold , not the carb manufacturer .
If it was me ,I'd use gasket 2 as it's a dual plane manifold .

I'm with you, so I emailed Holley/Weiand Tech Support back and they replied:

"That gasket will work fine also."

Kinda wishy washy if you ask me, I am the type of guy who wants to know why or why not or what the benefits are of each, know what I mean. I likes to learn.
