Re: Steering Wheel Question
Why do the aftermarket wheel adapters change after '69 then? That's why I thougt they were different.

Re: Steering Wheel Question
Parts inside the column change, not the steering wheel shaft diameter, or spline count though. I just purchased a grant wheel adapter for a tilt column. The previous hub is flat on the back side, the new one has a machined recess. Same diameter, same thread count.

Re: Steering Wheel Question
I'm tempted to hijack this thread to #itch about the 3 spoke grant that I sent back after one week.
I just did... consider it a public service announcement. ![]() I'm on the hunt too. I'll be hitting the junk yards for my next wheel.

Re: Steering Wheel Question
Many of us are aware of the Grant wheel problems! A much better option is just about ANY original or GM repro wheels. Their horn functionality is superior.

Re: Steering Wheel Question
I am now also skeptical of the repos, reading mixed opinions; just like with the grant. I even made plastic flat springs so the horn would work independent of the cap cover. But the wood joints separated. I initially thought if I licked the horn issue(cap pops off horn blows) I would be good to go. Not the case.
