What year is your engine, and what's it out of? E38's will have to be tuned for a speedo output and the wire will have to be added to the harness, then your speedo will hook up to that.

I've had 4 Cable-X's and their quality has gone down on each one I bought. The first one I bought in 2001 still works perfect with over 100k miles on it, but the newest one I bought doesn't work nearly as good. Not sure why that is though.
