Lock is fixed. Just as I thought, the cover came loose and popped up. You can see it in this picture. It is supposed to be down flush with the lock surface. I removed the cover and twisted the "tabs" on each end of the cover so it would stay in place long enough for me to re-stake it. You shouldn't have any more problems with it.... This can also happen to door and ignition lock cylinders. LockDoc
