Re: temp gauge not working..

Hope it's just the gauge itself, that would be easy enough to fix.

Love the clock... I have one in a box somewhere that I need to install.

Re: temp gauge not working..

Hey mine stopped working too, I think Im missing the wire that goes from the gauge to the sensor, is it just one wire? what do I need to replace it?

And at some point they must have had a tach in these trucks cause I saw one on ebay the other day it sold for like $80, and I think it said it was from a 76?

Re: temp gauge not working..

If I am correct the sender is has an ohm resistance at a certain temperature. But I also dont know if the sender is PTC or NTC.

Re: temp gauge not working..

I believe if you ground the wire out on the frame, the gauge should peg. If that works, I would believe its the sensor thats gone bad

Re: temp gauge not working..

Here ya go man, this is how i fixed mine. I use to buy these at the local car quest. The company that use to sell them went out of busniess..i guess..i cant locate them with the old packaging. These really work, i have them in both my trucks
So i had one of the technicians at work check the resistor to see what kind it is so i can make more for myself in the future. Cuz this is my last one.
I was told you can buy them at a radio shack, then u can crimp the connectors.

This resistor works for oil, temp, and amp

Sorry still stuck on the tach thing, why can't you get a repop Tach anywhere, LMC and Classic parts don't sell them, but they sell every other one
