Cool Can someone post engine pix

I need to see engine/exhaust manifold pix on 80's 305, I cannot upload anything to show what I'm talking about in previous question.
I have an 84 305 not sure if that makes difference. Thanks for your help.

they are plugs to fill in the holes left behind from removing the smog equipment. mine has the same thing, the square headed brass plugs are what I used also. hope this helps.

he thinks they screw into the head and not just the manifold

Ok, Here it is , These are Driver's and Passenger's side pics of 305 manifolds

Item 1# is the ONLY "Square head" anything on the engine where you are referring

Please ignore the fact these are mounted on a 1992 engine , the manifolds are from the original 87 305

Item 2# is the standard mounting bolts that came from the factory on my 305 engine

Here is a pic of a 1987 305. It has a smog air pump on it. Like someone said before. Sometimes people take the air pump system off, and then put plugs in the holes in the exhaust manifold.

I know you said you can't upload pics through your phone, but It might be best to find away to get some pics, because with out seeing what you're talking about it's going to be hard to help. Can you Email the pics to yourself and try to upload them from a computer?

Re: Can someone post engine pix

unless I'm loosing my mind... I just removed my factory original(never touched prior) exhaust manifolds out of my '84 in October and don't recall any square headed bolts. As stated above though there are a few possibilities such as pipe plugs where the A.I.R. tubes once were, or the inverted style which would only be in the passenger side head from the factory.

That is definitely a pipe plug to fill a AIR injection hole

What are those white looking pipes in 6 of the exhaust ports? What is there purpose?

Re: Can someone post engine pix

That's actually an extension of the AIR injection tube. On my BB (and looks like it for a smallblock), the tube bolts to the manifold and there is another piece that is in the manifold and goes into the exhaust port.

I'm kinda like duct tape- no real purpose, but handy to have around.
