Re: 1969 Chevy Stepside Restoration/Build up
This is an update of what I have done to it since I first got it...
![]() After I removed the old 250 straight six and granny gear 4 speed manual. They are going to be replaced with a 350 engine and a 700R4 4 speed automatic transmission. ![]() ![]() New sheet metal to replace the rusted/missing and automatic floor hump welded in to replace the large manual one. ![]() I converted it over from manual steering to power. It bolts in perfect but the bumper bracket doesn't fit (it hits the pump) so I have to modify the bumper bracket slightly. ![]() The step side fender is finished with the body work. The fender was completely warped all down the top so it took a lot of bondo to shape it back to its original shape. ![]() ![]() Started working on the door and I found that it had a very "thick" paint job. There is a ton of bondo build up on it and they bondoed over random holes like the factory mirror holes and other ones. I welded up the holes except for the mirror ones and ground them down. Now for tommarow more paint removal and bondo the dents on the door. Last edited by matthew20061; 06-07-2008 at 04:49 AM. |
