I never stated anything about E.T's or Dyno numbers, I was talking about what they rob on take-off and Part Throttle in general, IT IS Noticeable, I have swapped 4L60E's for 4L80E's several times, Of course as BoostedC10 stated a good Stall Converter that gets the engine into the meat of the Torque Band helps a lot, Then More Power & Displacement/Boost makes my point moot.

The OP is going for a Cammed 5.3, A 4L60E will feel Better/Faster at Part Throttle where MOST driving is done. Especially if the cam is too big (Easy to over-cam a 4.8L/5.3L)

If I slapped a Allison 1000 in your truck....You would notice it
