So you have an early 6.0 crank that is longer than the later models? Is that gonna mate up to the ls1 style t56? I would think you would need the lt style t56? I may have missed how you set it up in your thread too, Im bad for that...lol

No… you’re good. It took a lot of digging on how to do the setup.
Engine is the early 6.0 lq4 truck block. Therefore it has the .4 longer crank whereas you have the shorter crank on later models. This does make it hard to source parts. It’s a matter of the spacer being removed. With the longer crank… you really can’t remove something that’s not removeable. Fortunately, McLeod is the only one I found that makes a kit to work with the .4 longer crank. Comes with pilot bushing, clutch, flywheel, pressure plate, slave, arp pressure plate and flywheel bolts.

As far as the T56, in order to use the LT T56 to a LS block, I had to fully convert over to the LS configuration. I had to swap midplate, bellhousing, and input shaft. An actual easy swap.

So the paint I had… I’m guessing was a bad can. Primer stuck but paint bubbled and blistered for no reason. Had to redo all of it. It’s not perfect anymore (to me) but at least now it’s good. I can live with it.

Got the 3 of 4 guniwheels I ordered. One more and I can put it on the ground.

Got the tanks inc fuel tank mounted. No holes were drilled in the frame. Used existing holes in the frame, marked where I wanted it, drilled the holes in the tank mount flange, and got her in. This is the only part of the truck frame that will have something metric besides the motor/trans. Used a M10x1.25x 30 bolt and flange nut. Flipped it upside down and knocked them into the holes. Tightened her up. Will tack weld the nuts to the frame to secure 100%. Doing it this way will allow me to drop the tank if I ever needed to without pulling the bed.

Got everything body wise that I have over to the blaster. All the small stuff should be blasted, treated, and covered in epoxy 2k courtesy of summit racing. Was a cool thank you gift from them for spending what I’ve spent in the last 30 days.

19 gal i believe. efi ready tank its the tanks inc tank. its the same exact tank that holley uses for their efi kit. except when you but it direct from tanks inc, its like more than half the cost.

Not sure if I'm reading that tank picture right, but it looks like you are bolting it in from the bottom which means that you're not able to use the flange of the tank to carry its weight and the weight of the fuel. Am I seeing that right? If that's the case, then you only have the surface area of the heads of the bolts holding it up and that would concern me. Can you bolt it up with some flat or angle stock that spans the length of the flange?

I have .878” coverage on the m10 flange bolt. The flange of the tank is 3/16”. I thought about adding some support but haven’t gotten that far. What would you use as far as flat stock? Angle would be pointless imo. Some tanks are held in with straps that run along the bottom of the tank and still end up with smaller bolts on either end holding the tank. Any insight is appreciated.

Looks like the mount I got will not work. Stock style mount is like 2” tall. Need to put the center of the output shaft in the center of the brace. Anyone know if they make a low profile mount? Dropping 1 in will put me almost center of the crossmember

I would use flat stock the width of the flange and as thick as you can manage: 3/16, 1/4. Not understanding the comment about angle being worthless, it definitely would add strength by having a vertical leg unless you've got a clearance issue. I believe that flange is meant to rest on the top of your frame and since you are not doing it that way, you will want to have something that reproduces the bearing strength you need and ties back to your frame via the bolts..

Just got off the phone with Georgia from tanks inc. Here is what she said almost word for word.

The tank was designed to be installed to the bottom side of the frame. There are no straps or additional support required as the flange was designed to hold the weight of the tank, fuel, and components installed. You can install it in between the frame rails or even on top but it was designed to be hung from the bottom side of the frame rail with 2 bolts on each side.

She said to use 3/8 or larger to secure the tank

That's good enough then. They built the tank flange to support the components. Basically it's overbuilt vs an OE tank.

What tank p/n BTW?
