Hmmm - wonder if some of the '67 blocks went into the '68s? I have a bunch of pics of the PO doing the tear apart and engine rebuild. Mine definitely had the cartridge filter canister - and the adapter put on was for the Ford style filters I found out (after buying a filter the first time for a GM)
